My Story

ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13741 Angelina Ballerina is part of the Literary Mice Litter. She was one pound, ten five ounces at six weeks. Shes estimated to be about 15-30 pounds when grown. But since weve never met her father (her mom is a real sweetheart), thats just a range. Puppy growth calculators have her topping out at 11 pounds (but that seems on the small side). Angelina was the runt of this litter, but we just call her the baby. She is sassy and not intimidated by her larger siblings. She enjoys the toys, and exploring the puppy pen, looking for anything new that might have appeared. She loves playing outside in the grass, and is friendly, sweet, and a little goofy. To see more pictures and learn more about the Literary Mice Litter (and their mama) visit their foster moms blog, AnotherGoodDog.org (and also the Facebook group, Another Good Dog, for daily live videos) Ideal Home: Angelina would thrive in a home that can provide her with lots of love, attention, and playtime. As a young puppy, she will need a family that is patient and committed to her training and socialization. A household where she can grow and learn in a nurturing environment would be perfect. Health and Care: Angelina is a young puppy who will need regular veterinary check-ups, vaccinations, and preventive care as she grows. Because she is so young, she has only received 2 of the required 3 puppy distemper vaccines. This is very IMPORTANT because it means that her immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age. Until then, Angelina MUST stay out of public places where she could be exposed to the germs of other dogs. These no-puppy zones include all pet stores, dog parks, and for apartment dwellers, areas used by other dogs. These requirements are strictly for her medical safety and longevity. Adoption Information: Angelina is looking for a forever home where she can grow up to be a happy and healthy dog. If you think you could be the perfect match for this little bundle of joy, please apply today! Angelina is able to go home as soon as July 31, 2024. Angelina is currently being fostered in Maurertown, VA. To adopt fill out the simple online application at https://ophrescue.org Operation Paws for Homes, Inc. (OPH) rescues dogs and cats of all breeds and ages from high-kill shelters in NC, VA, MD, and SC, reducing the numbers being euthanized. With limited resources, the shelters are forced to put down 50-90% of the animals that come in the front door. OPH provides pet adoption services to families located in VA, DC, MD, PA and neighboring states. OPH is a 501(c)(3) organization and is 100% donor funded. OPH does not operate a shelter or have a physical location. We rely on foster families who open their homes to give love and attention to each pet before finding a forever home. All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
