My Story

DOB: 1/16/2022 Weight: 13lbs Amber is one adorable, spunky little lady! She's a small 13lb mixed breed (likely terrier/chihuahua), and only 2 years old. Amber loves to be near people, but has a cat-like personality - her favorite people are the ones who let her do her own thing without trying to pet her. She gets along great with dogs and cats, is kennel trained, and potty trained. She does great walking on a leash and riding in the car. She has a great energy level - she's perfectly content as a couch potato, but will gladly wrestle and zoom if another dog wants to. Amber doesn't mind men, but is a bit more comfortable with women. She also doesn't mind older kids who are able to respect her personal bubble. A perfect home for Amber would have a female primary owner to fall in love with, a fenced yard, and at least one dog friend to play with and show her the ropes. Since she is shy, it'll take a little bit for her to warm up to her new surroundings, but once she is comfortable she is a goofy, hilarious little pup! This sweet girl has been overlooked for so long because she is shy at first, but she has come incredibly far in rescue and ready to be someone's favorite Cinnamon Roll Badger! **INFORMATION ABOUT OUR APPLICATION PROCESS** All of our dogs are fully vetted before adoption, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and a microchip. The adoption process consists of an online application, a vet reference, two personal references, and a home visit. If approved to adopt, there is an adoption contract and an adoption amount. The adoption amount for Amber is $100 and goes toward the vetting and care of all the dogs in our rescue. All adoptions will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done in person. We are willing to adopt to out-of-state applicants, contingent on our ability to complete a home visit, but you must be willing to come to the Omaha area to complete the adoption. We do not ship, transport or deliver our dogs. If you would like to learn more about Harbor of Hope Dog Rescue, please visit our website (www.HarborOfHopeDogRescue.org) or our Facebook page.
