My Story

~DOB: 2/1/2022 Weight: 45 Pounds Energy level: High Overall drive: Moderate Location: Visalia, CA Amber is the momma to the Coffee Litter, and now that her motherly duties are completed, she is looking for her forever home! She is a sweet younger lady who loves being around her person, cuddling, taking walks, hiking, and exploring. Sometimes she can be a level 47 clinger, but if that is your jam she might be the one for you! If Amber was human, she would have made a great enlisted member of our military. She loves staying active, needs some solid leadership, and can think/solve her way out of problems if needed. It can be hard to describe her sometimes as she is a ball of curiosity and nerves, plus she can be affectionate, protective, and cuddly all at the same time. When meeting new people, she can be shy, but slow introductions and space allow her to warm up rather quickly. One thing that she really likes is pack activities where there are other dogs around such as pack walks with her foster familys dogs and small outings with them as well. Amber loves to ride in the car and explore, but new settings and pushy dogs/people are not her thing. She enjoys going with her person but will need continued socialization training to set her up for success. This girl is terrified of loud noises, so she will require a heavy-duty crate such as an Impact, Gunner, or Ruffland for her safety. Additionally, she does have some prey drive and will chase cats, and chickens so a home void of small critters is required. During Ambers time in foster, she has been working on continued socialization, house manners, nervousness, and basic obedience. She is very much a diamond in the rough while having the exceptional ability to want to learn new things. She has been noted to be a trash can raider #MightBePartTrashPanda but will settle for counter-surfing. One of the other things that she does is hoard bones and chew toys, not much of a sharing type more of the only child syndrome. Things that her foster has noted that help her with her anxiety are stuffed Kong toys and frozen bones that will take her a long time to get through. Amber is looking for a home to continue her training and understands that she is not a plug and play type of dog. She will take some time to open up to a new person, dog, or family. If you are willing to put in the work with her she could possibly be a great sport dog in Rally, Obedience, Barn Hunt, or Dock Diving. Or she could possibly be the best hiking weekend adventure buddy there has ever been. So, if you are looking for a girl that needs some help and direction in life, Amber might be the girl you have been waiting for!
