My Story

Sweet Ally was adopted a few months ago and sadly her daddy that adored her died suddenly so she is back with STS. Ally is best guessed as an 9-10 year-old, beagle mix, weighing in at around 35 pounds and is just the sweetest lady. She may have applications in progress, but is currently available. Ms Ally loves people!! She especially loves getting cuddles and belly rubs. She might even crawl into your lap and lay belly-up asking for pets - if you try and stop too soon, she'll "hug" your arms so you have to keep going. She also loves giving kisses and gazing up at her people with love and adoration. She would make an excellent companion for any family who wants an easy, low maintenance dog to be their best friend and complete shadow. She is potty trained (!!), adapts well to any new situation, loves all people of all ages. She would go anywhere her human went, if she could. She wants to please you and love you. She can't resist climbing in bed with you either! She does have some separation anxiety when left alone, and will vocalize her disapproval, so no apartments. Due to her separation anxiety Ally cannot do a crate so leaving her in a room when you do leave is the next best thing. It is recommended that you get a tall cat gate 61" or taller for a doorway as she can scale and jump over a 45-48" tall baby gate easily. Ally is on meds currently for her anxiety. Ally is great with dogs after a week-long slow intro (she currently lives with and loves her foster family's three other dogs) but will initially bark or lunge at a new/strange dog. She will not be able to go to dog parks or public places where there are lots of dogs around either, due to this dog selectiveness. MUSTS for ALLY: a house with a fenced in yard, a person that is home a lot, and possibly a confident dog buddy. Expectations: Ensure a week-long separation/rotation with your other dogs, ensure she continues to take her anxiety meds, ensure that she has the proper gate to keep her safe if leaving the house. Ally is housebroken and has never had an accident. She will need a house without cats as she will chase them. If you or someone you know is interested in this perfect sized lady, apply today to meet her. Adoption fee is $200 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, fecal/deworming, vaccines and prevention up to date. Ohio residents only. STS is a foster-based and volunteer-run rescue. We do not have a physical location or set hours for you to meet dogs, and it does take time to answer each inquiry. All dogs are in foster homes and once an application is approved and a home visit is completed you will be able to schedule meet and greets with available dogs. We encourage interested individuals to get approved prior to searching as it helps expedite the process. A Petfinder inquiry is not a substitute for an application.
