My Story

Al has been with his foster for months due to medical needs - requiring both a leg surgery and Heartworm treatment. He’s JUST 2 years old and full grown at 55lbs. He has made a full recovery while working on 'pet' skills. He is now crate trained, calm on car rides and sits for hugs from his foster. The world was a big and scary *dangerous* place for this dog before rescue. Now he enjoys movies on the couch and stays close by other foster dogs or humans for company. This is his story: https://youtu.be/p_G7J0x9FMw Playgroup with dog of all sizes: https://youtu.be/2cj2apd57K4 Neutered, up to date on shots, on prevention. He has NO limitations, expected to life a full Doberman life span (who’s ready for a decade with this active teenager?!). He loves being outside and is crate trained, working on house training and leash skills. He sleeps on a pile of pillows and blankets and nibbles on his kibble from inside his crate. Al has a big boy bark and will guard his food from other dogs. But we get it! This young dog was severely neglected than traumatized on the streets. Al would do best in a home with adults willing to help him slowly introduce himself to new adults and dogs. He likes girls (humans and dogs) and little kids but gets nervous with dudes bigger than him. He is in playgroups with girl dogs of all sizes and breeds, no issues. He is nervous with male dogs his own age, but is ok with senior male dogs. His foster brother - is a big Doberman who helped him run the fence checking on squirrels to rebuild muscle and use his once injured leg. He has no limitations on his hip/leg but does lift it on rainy days (maybe he can feel the cold?) BIG SHOUT OUT to the shelter volunteers at Pasadena Animal Control (Pasadena Texas) who notified us of his need. He was on the euthanasia list due to his injures-medical needs. Fundraising and grants helped cover some of his medical bills.
