My Story

Hey! My name is Alder, and I'm on the lookout for a forever home. Here's a bit about me: I am a 7 month old Siberian Husky with the prettiest blue eyes! At just 5 months old, I was abandoned in the woods with 9 other dogs. It was a tough start, but I'm getting stronger and more confident every day. I'm still a little cautious around humans, but I do allow petting, cuddling, and even holding once I trust you. I love when my foster mom pets my belly in the morning - it's the best way to start the day! Being outside is my absolute favorite! I'm a typical husky – water is the best! Any water, doesn’t matter. The toilet is a great place for a nap, in my opinion. I know my coat is supposed to be white and gray, but I prefer when it’s brown with mud like you can see in my photos. I love following my foster family around, letting them know I love them by rubbing on their legs. Oh, can’t forget chasing sticks and toys! I'm also quite vocal, especially in the mornings when I like to greet the day with my husky song. I'm a smart and curious pup with lots of energy. I think I'd do really well in a home that enjoys training dogs and keeping me mentally stimulated. We have to do a lot of outdoor activities too, but you’ll need to train me on a leash first! I really enjoy animal company (maybe more than human company), so having other dogs around would make me very happy. I need a family that understands my past and my challenges and loves me anyway! I'm looking for a home that is husky savvy and willing to be patient with me as I continue to grow and learn. If you think we could be a great match, I can't wait to meet you! Notes from the humans: The DNA test of the other abandoned dogs, which we believe to be his siblings, came back as 100% Siberian Husky. His estimated date of birth is December 2023. Alder has been fully vaccinated and has an appointment to be neutered and microchipped in September. Sterilization is a requirement of adopting through our organization and is reflected in our adoption contract, whether at our vet or yours!
