My Story

Alana is an extremely sweet, playful, and goofy girl, around 2 years old and 55 pounds. She's a huge cuddle bug and such a love! Alana is currently in a foster home where she goes bonkers for squeaky toys and balls and loves to run the fence with the neighbor dogs showing off her toys. She also loves basking in the sun and naps on the covered deck when the sun is too hot. After all that fun in the sun she loves a good couch cuddle fest! She will need a home with a fenced yard as she loves her zoomies and is continuing to work on her leash manners. She loves her walks and is making improvement with pulling on the leash, but will continue to need training as she still needs a lot of space to be comfortable and not be reactive when other people (and especially dogs) are walking in her sight. Alana is extremely smart and treat motivated -- she's done well with basic obedience (sit/down/look/stay) and is currently working on heel, 'leave it', and her recall. She is also house and kennel trained. She loves adult humans but she is continuing to work hard on appropriate greeting behavior. She has had minimal controlled/supervised exposure to kids age 1-8 where she has done well. She has spent a little supervised time with other dogs in her foster home and has done well with other dogs same size and larger as long as there aren't toys or food out for her to guard, and the other dog respects her communication of boundaries--she has not had exposure to small dogs beyond running the fence line with her neighbor friends. Alana will need a home committed to continued training and would do best in a home that will keep her active physically as well as mentally stimulated with continued training and enrichment so she can continue to learn, build confidence, and be the very best family member she can be.
