My Story

Adopted on February 1, 2007. My name is AJ and I am a boy. I am super smart and have yet to have an accident in the house. My foster parents have started crate training with me and I am doing super! I will require a traditional fenced yard at my forever home. Please read below for more detailed information on how I wound up with this GREAT rescue group! I think it’s time to introduce ourselves in hopes that we might find our forever homes. I’ll start off first since I’m the oldest by 4 minutes and I know just what to say. My name is Raven and we’re all about 6 to 7 weeks old. I’m female, black in color and I think I might be a Lab mix. Next you have my little sister Teva. She’s yellow in color and she is the best sister a pup could ever wish for. Last but not least there is AJ. He is black and white and loves everything and everyone that he comes in contact with. We really hope that our foster family knows we love them and without them we wouldn’t be here today. You see, when we were just 3 ½ to 4 weeks old our mother was trying to cross a busy road with us and make sure that we were not hurt. It was my turn to cross and I was scared to death. Mom told me not to worry and that she would protect me the whole way across. My brother and sister were waiting on the other side for us as mom picked me up and started across the road. We were almost to the other side when I heard a terrifying sound and the next thing I knew, I was in the grass next to AJ and Teva. We looked around and saw a human standing over our mom with tears in her eyes. I ran to my mom but she was already gone. The human picked us up along with my mom’s body and drove us to a place where other humans were. They took our mom away and the next thing I knew, a very nice lady showed up and took us into her warm loving arms. She told us as we drove away that our mom was now safe across the Rainbow Bridge. She told us that our mom gave her life so that we would have a chance at a new start. We have been with our foster family since that day and now we are hoping to find our forever homes. We all had a cold and my sister was hurt when the nice foster family took us into there loving home. S.A.F.E Animal Haven made sure that we were taken to the Vet and cared for. They are trying to raise money to cover some of the medical cost for us. If you don’t have room in your family for one or three of us, could you please make a donation in one of our names to S.A.F.E Animal Haven. We also love toys, Purina Puppy Chow, soft blankets to lay on, puppy training pads or even a few paper towels to help wipe up the little mistakes that we happen to make. Thank you caring, Raven, Teva and AJ In loving memory of our mom Due to us being a not for profit rescue group we adopt our fosters within an hours driving distance from the Matthews, NC area. Sorry but we are not able to travel any further distances and we do not ship out animals. Please visit our official website at safeanimalhaven.org for more information about our group.
