You: a human who loves to give belly rubs, play tug, cuddle on the couch and car rides. Me: lovable boy seeking a forever family to call my own. I had a long road to recovery when I was pulled by Take Paws from a rural, high kill shelter with severe malnutrition, liver injury and heartworms. But I’ve put on some weight, my liver has healed, I’ve completed my heartworm treatment, I am up to date on my vaccines, and I was just neutered. I am a little over a year old, and fully grown. Everyone always says how handsome I am, but I’m still working on putting on a little more weight. I am potty trained, and love going on walks with my Foster Mom to meet other dogs in the neighborhood. But I do need slow introductions when new dogs come to my home. I also love humans, including kids, and I will greet everyone with kisses and tail wags. Cats aren’t for me because they are just too fun to chase! Because I’m still young and get very excited, my Foster Mom and I are working on my self control and some manners. She says that I’m very food motivated, and a quick learner! We are also working on crate training. I am not a big fan of when my Foster Mom has to leave me behind when she goes to work, but she says I’m improving now that I have the right crate and we’re in a routine. I would prefer a home that won’t leave me behind more than a few hours at a time. Come take me home! The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet.
