My Story

Lola is the definition of a best friend. Lola is full of love. She loves nothing more than spending time with her people - a nice walk, a good cuddle, she’s a dog who seems to understand what we say when talking her and eats up any attention offered. Lola is house trained, when you go into the yard with her and tell her to “go potty” or “go poop” she will do so on cue. Lola is crate trained in that if she needs a break she’ll go in herself on her own and close the door behind her. She’ll take a little nap or just observe from her crate. Lola is a gentle girl who enjoys soft petting. Lola’s coat can grow long so she’ll need to be brushed and/or kept in a shorter trim. Thankfully, Lola does great for her brush outs and baths. She’s not a fan of nail trims but is getting more comfortable with it. Feet are a bit tickly so she’s a little sensitive of paw trims, too, but wants to please her people so much she tolerates it. Lola knows “sit”, “touch”, and has excellent recall with “come”. She will “shake” or “give paw”. She knows “down” ( as in lay down) and “off” (as in off her foster person’s chair). Lola loves a good routine but is flexible if her people mess up the routine. Lola loves a good car ride - especially if the window is cracked just enough for some good sniffs. She likes puzzle toys and any canine enrichment toys. She occasionally plays with stuffies. Lola loves a good chase after a squirrel or rabbit. Thankfully, she’s never caught one in the fenced in yard. She also likes to look out the windows to watch the world go by. Lola and a purebred OES male were found together in an apartment by the landlord after a move out. They were very matted and once shaved down, we discovered Lola was very pregnant. She had an X-ray so we’d have an idea what to expect. 2 weeks later Lola had a littler in her foster home. As the puppies got more interested in toys as they grew, Lola seemed to learn how to play with toys with the pups. She doesn’t seem as interested in solo play but she does appreciate time with her people the most. Lola is in foster care with dogs of all ages and sexes. She loves a small female, but she is afraid of the males. We aren't sure if it's their size or their sex but we are guessing size. Lola’s puppies had DNA test done and it looks like Lola is about 60+ Old English Sheepdog. ( see Lola’s Puppies DNA result photo - this is from her litter) If you’re looking for a new best friend - Lola is really worth looking into. To meet Lola, please fill out an adoption application at www.MOESR.org. Pre-approved families can schedule a meet and greet with this beautiful, kind dog.
