My Story

Please contact Jodi Rosenberg ([email protected]) for more information about this pet.Adorable girl looking for her forever home Addison NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Addison Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and spaniel mix Guess for Age: 3 years as of July 2024 Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 60.1lbs Gets Along With: Others dogs! We haven't seen Addison with kids but she can be tested! She needs to go a home without cats. Currently Living At: SC Shelter -- Addison needs a foster or forever home to escape! Special Adoption Considerations: Addison is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months. We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Addison is Looking For: A forever home where she can enjoy long sniffy walks through the neighborhood and frequent trips to the dog park or day care to play with others. Most of all, Addison would love to join your family to shower you with love. What My Foster Says About Me: We will update once Addison has spent some time in her foster home. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
