Addie

Addie was picked up as a stray in Kansas, so we really have no idea about her history. She is estimated to be just over 3 years old and weighs just over 15 pounds. She seemed to be very emotionally shut down when she was picked up, but we don’t know why. She had no physical injuries. The shelter spayed her and our Kansas foster picked her up. When the foster got Addie home, she discovered that the shelter hadn’t sent any pain medication! Luckily, we were able to find some pain medication for Addie over the weekend. She got along well with the foster’s other dogs, even right after her surgery. She is definitely a lap dog and enjoys any other attention that she can get. When she came to Colorado, we put her in a large exercise pen with two scared little puppymill mamas and Addie started mothering them! She taught the little girls how to get from the pen to the door to go outside, and then taught them to potty outside! Addie would really enjoy an owner who works from home most of the time or is retired. She really wants to be with her people. She can be a little dog reactive with dogs that she doesn’t know, so a fenced in backyard would be great. She would probably like having a companion dog with a proper introduction. Addie is spayed, she is up to date on her vaccinations (rabies, distemper and kennel cough), vet checked, heartworm tested negative and on preventative while in rescue, and microchipped.
