My Story

Hi, my name is Ace. I am 8 years old and extremely handsome (that is what people always say when they walk by me on my walks). My favorite things to do are taking short walks and cuddling with my stuffed duck. Ideally, I go on 2 walks a day and the rest of the time I enjoy laying in the sun. I also love going for car rides where I just lay down and relax. Due to growing up in a kennel I walk a little different (most people say I prance), and I do not really know how to run. The vet says my legs are fine and they keep getting stronger with all the activity I now get. My ideal forever family will be quiet. Growing up outside in the country has made me nervous and loud noises can scare me. I have not shown any aggression towards dogs but can get nervous when they bark at me. My first-time meeting little kids (5 and 6 years old) did not go well. They would run and scream, which would make me bark and try to go after them. I was the separated and was able to watch them from across the room. The second time I met them went a lot better. At the end, the kids were feeding me treats from their hands (I am very gentle). A home with humans over the age of 16 would make me most comfortable. I love the people I am currently with and will have issues without them, but if you are patient with me and give me time, I will eventually adapt and be my normal self with you. I do have a kennel I go in if left alone, but will bark and try to get out for 5-10 minutes. After that, I normally settle down and sleep. I love to sleep in the bed and on the couch. I’ve also been left alone outside of my kennel for short periods and I don’t mind that, I just go find my humans’ bed to lay on! I’m an only dog right now and do well. I would do ok with a female dog, and, honestly, I think I would be fine with another low key male dog, but the home I came from felt that I didn’t do well with male dogs. My foster family thinks I was just overwhelmed because there were several other dogs in the home. To conclude, I am a great dog that will just take a little time to adjust. I just love to relax and be with my humans. Ace’s adoption fee is $250 and he’s fostered in the Twin Cities. He’s neutered and UTD on vaccinations. Ace is microchipped.
