Looking for that puppy attitude, playfulness, and lovability without the potty training? Addi is your girl! Addi is an approximately 70lb, 2-year-old Lab/ Great Pyrenees / other?? mix. She came to STS with her brother after being found living in a church parking lot for over three weeks before a shelter finally had an adoption and space for them. Addi is an active and energetic lady! She loves to play with her resident foster sister who's significantly smaller than her, but Addi is super gentle as they wrestle and chase each other around. She loves to be outside in the yard checking out the bird and squirrels and generally enjoying the lush grass. Like most GPs, she does love to bark while patrolling the yard (from outside or the window). She knows who is walking on the sidewalk and makes a great security system, but only for alerts - she's an incredibly gentle soul. Squirrels might get her attention, but she is dog friendly and passed her cat test with flying colors. Doesn't even give them a second look on her daily walks or in closer interactions. She can get a little startled with new people and events if she's unfamiliar, but she'll will quickly come up to new folks for pets after she's alerted to you that they are indeed new to her and they are indeed in your space. She is a very quick learner. She mastered the doggy door on her first try, she knows her name, and she quickly learned the routine of her foster home and where the treats are kept! Addie is house trained, but not crate trained. When left alone at home, her puppy-side occasionally takes over and she'll chew things she knows she's not allowed to have but in fairness, those items were left at her level or in her accessibility. She has never destroyed anything other than stuffed toys (which she LOVES!) or bones (another of her FAVORITE!). As she's still getting out her puppy energy, having something for her to chew on is important. But she's a great sharer of both with her foster sister! She walks well on a leash and waits extremely patiently to put on her harness. She can't wait to get outside and get some exercise around the blocks. She'd love in a fenced in yard where she can sunbathe and stretch her legs. She'd also do great with another energetic dog to play with. She wakes up to wrestle and loves another romp around before bedtime. Her other favorite thing is to have your attention and will nuzzle up to you with both her head and paws to make sure you know she's in need of pets belly rubs are her jam! Then after, she'll lay next to where you are to make sure she's still part of a pack. She's really loving getting the hang of family life! She's opted to sleep on the floor in her foster home, but she does love a good blanket and access to her doggy bed. Nap times on the couch are new to her, and she's really getting the hang of all the comfy spaces. If you have an active home and like to spend time outside, this girl is going to be perfect for you! She's so much fun, loving, and looking for a great family to spend the rest of her days! Adoption fee is $350.00 and includes spay/neuter, microchip, fecal/deworming, vaccines and prevention up to date. Ohio residents only. STS is a foster-based and volunteer-run rescue. We do not have a physical location or set hours for you to meet dogs, and it does take time to answer each inquiry. All dogs are in foster homes and once an application is approved and a home visit is completed you will be able to schedule meet and greets with available dogs.
