My Story

Male, approx. 1 year old, 49 lbs Personality: playful, easygoing, loyal, adventurous, good running partner, outgoing, smart, and brave. Are you looking for a smart, adaptable, affectionate boy all in one cute package? Meet Aaron, the lovable doggo who believes everyone he meets - human or animal - is just a friend he doesn't know yet. Aaron excels around his people and he's always ready to say hello and lean in for pets or kisses. He might be a little too enthusiastic for little humans just yet, but for shyer puppy friends, he knows to take a step back and match their energy. Aaron is awesome at communication, both when understanding humans and expressing himself. He quickly learned the word "sit" and can't wait to show it off for you! Aaron has had no accidents in the house and is very eager to please, which has helped with his training. He loves playing tug and carrying his "emotional support" marrow bones. A playful guy who can entertain himself, Aaron also enjoys playing with other dog friends around the neighborhood and at daycare. Aaron thrives with long walks and time to play with food puzzles, licky mats, and snuffle mats. He's a "play hard, sleep hard kind of dog. While Aaron barks inside to communicate or when rolling around on the rug, this chatty behavior has improved significantly. He is crated overnight and can stay there alone or through a good chunk of the workday. Aaron does well with his resident dog sister, respecting her boundaries, and has shown great adaptability with teens in his foster home. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Leptospirosis, and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
