IF you want to donate to Love Mutts Rescue, Inc..you MUST go to the home page: www.LoveMuttsRescue.org paypal button near our LOGO (Red heart w/ 2 black dogs) We are non-profit , tax deductible Reed, one of 6 "radio give-a-ways" had cancer. 3 & 1/2 years of love! One of our volunteers has lost her dog, Laverne...her soul-mate..her mom has donated in memory...hard to comprehend the loss of an animal who is so in tune w/ us. Thank you Donna for fostering and then adopting several dog who were easy to fall in love w/...the 2 seniors have crossed the bridge but had more love than there precious life before the shelter. FLORA & LELAND were sweet beagles ! *& for donations in their memory. Daniel Christopher Sileo's family asked that donations in his memory be made to Love Mutts....thank you to those who have donated ! Our wonderful volunteers, adopted Bean, after fostering her (not a surprise~) a couple of years ago. Bean developed a cancer, so young; we all are devastated. I will share that another volunteer went to a rural shelter to get 3 dogs. She asked why some kennel cards were folded over (those would die when shelter closed) She came home with 15, including Beans ~who was able to live out her short life w/ so much love. Susan & Richard are faithful donors, too. We are grateful for their support in so many ways. We know Bean gave them oodles of love for a lifetime of warm memories. We lost 2 adorable dogs that were adopted as puppies & had health issues at a very young age...2 to 3 years..and their families loved them & gave them a life time in those short years..Zoey has the racoon face, in the snow, in the water, loved life & Bumper they re-named Buddy...he had a whole village to love him & all miss him so much...they have done a fund-raiser in his memory that has given LMR new 'leashes' on life...we use very special ones we need to re-order ! the darling beagle w/ the green to is Buddy ! Brandy was not from our rescue, but had a life-time of love & her owner continues to donate to our rescue in her memory...a beautiful yellow lab ! CJ was rescued from a shelter, when DUMPED because he was a SENIOR & they did not want to give meds for the rest of his life....he went on diet, had $15 of meds ever month for almost 3 years, as LOVE MUTTS worked w/ his needs & his foster, who adopted him so he would know he was loved to the end..enjoyed many trips to the beach..had friends everywhere !! VALDOSTA, our little puppy who had horrible blood problems...yes, very rare but HEMOPHELIAC..was such a sweet teddy bear. $3,000 spent, if you would like to go to our homepage and click on the PAYPAL button to donate in any of our dogs who are at the Rainbow bridge... RUDOLPH, adopted & returned..fostered w/ love until he was in too much pain from arthritis..we spent over $500 trying to get him to be painfree, as he had another person wanting to adopt him & care for his needs... SADIE, was adopted as a senior, and did not live out the year.... MINNIE MOUSE ~ thank you Donna Calhoon for donating in her memory to help Sasha, who was a last minute save, who looks like her Minnie Mouse ! DINO, Pete & Kelly (who volunteer for us) got Dino (Pete's quote:) "when I was looking for a playmate for our 8yr old, Black Lab, Rex. Rex was getting older and not being as active as he should have been. Dino was only 37 pounds when we met him at a dog park and 4 years old...after about 5 minutes of play time the lady said ...are you taking him or not...if you don't want him I'm leaving him here. She immediately started dumping his tennis balls out on the ground and hung his leash up on the dog park fence. When he was at his correct weight he was 80 to 90 lbs. Dino was the most mellow and loving dog I ever had. He was the best Big brother to our 12 yr old poodle, Riley & then to our 1 1/2 yr old Maltese, Oliver that they could have ever had. I try to be the person he thought I was every day. " His sister donated to Love Mutts in Dino's memory... Duffy, our senior gentleman was killed, by a car, tragically got out of foster care...we had him for a year...he was rescued from abuse, so he knew love and taught us about loving him..yes..'pit' is not a breed, but a misunderstood name for very loving dogs.... **donation in memory of  Miss Phoebe!  Regal, pampered & entitled. We miss her (pomeranian). Peter & Janis (Cal & Rudy & the other fur-friends) who just adopted Breckenridge...now Miss Lilly..Thank you for your countless volunteer hours to transport, walk, feed our rescues!   **donations in memory of Alan Stanton Finlayson by his mother, Donna Diemer and by Peggy Stanton  - this money helped to vet 6 little found puppies, they helped me name in Alan's memory of the animals he rescued "Al Capone liter" ***donation in memory of a loving wife, mom & grandmother--friend Mary Elizabeth Purvis Finlator...Raleigh, NC ******If you would like to make a donation in memory of one of your loved pets, please go to our home page and click on PAYPAL, then send me an email of your tribute and I will post it in a file like this--you may send one picture to post! www.love.petfinder.com [email protected] We said good-bye to our sweet little beagle, Scuppy, who would have been 16 on Christmas day...he stayed strong, following us around and took one wobbly last walk to his favorite neighbor's today, but I had to carry him home. Gene said it best...'you were one of the best...why can't dogs live longer?' Give yours an extra hug tonight! 10/31/11 ******** The rescue was started by Marlianne, My most recent loss..FryPan who died from Cancer..may have been older than 10..my soul-mate, my dancing dog..gave me kisses...& these are my dogs who have died at AGE 16...Scuppy, our beagle, Smooches, our husky mix, who we picked her up off the street, when a car hit her, smashed her hip..she never acted like she was handicapped ! age 16 & our Bear , talking dog, died...hearts are broken as we miss them so, but we rejoice that all of these dogs had 16 years of love...so many miss that.. loved to ride in the car or in the canoe w/ my husband as he did work on the lake. ********Our Tino was killed in our driveway at Christmas, several years ago.. '10..he was a shelter rescue who stole my heart because of his sweet, loving nature..I have had beagles all my life. I am retired and I love rescuing all dogs, but especially beagles, as they are so loving, loyal and just get sweeter as they get older. No matter where you get a dog, my hope is that you 'rescue' one. This might be of interest to you to read! If you would like to donate to my rescue, please email me at [email protected] and encourage everyone to get their animals altered! ****************************** Study: Health (mental/physical) improves when you have a dog or cat that you care for. A lady went to shelter to find a dog for her elderly dad who had come to live with them. At last pen, a dog struggled to his feet, walked to the front, sat down. It was a pointer. But a caricature of the breed. Years had etched his face and muzzle with shades of gray. His hip bones jutted out in lopsided triangles. It was his eyes that caught my attention. “His time is up tomorrow." I drove home with the dog on the front seat. Dad wrinkled his face in disgust. "If I had wanted a dog I would have gotten one. I wouldn’t have picked a bag of bones. I don't want it" Suddenly the pointer wobbled toward my dad, sat, raised his paw, waited. Then Dad was on his knees hugging the animal. Together they explored the community. They spent long hours walking down dusty lanes. They spent reflective moments on the banks of streams, angling for tasty trout. They even started to attend Sunday services together, Dad sitting in a pew and Cheyenne lying quietly at his feet. Dad and Cheyenne were inseparable throughout the next three years. Then late one night I was startled to feel Cheyenne’s cold nose burrowing through our bed covers. He had never before come into our bedroom at night. Dad’s spirit had left quietly. My shock, grief deepened when I discovered Cheyenne lying dead beside Dad’s bed. I buried him near a favorite fishing hole; I silently thanked the dog for the help he had given me in restoring Dad’s peace of mind. The pastor began his eulogy. It was a tribute to both Dad and the dog who had changed his life. The pastor turned to Hebrews 13:2. "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it." "I've often thanked God for sending that angel." *************** If you found your way to this dog off of Petfinder...please look at all the dogs who are in "Love Mutts Rescue" ... on LMR Facebook, I list my adoption events .
