Gracie underwent her surgery yesterday (12/10) and is recovering wonderfully. The surgery was a success, but the severity of her bone deformity was much worse than we expected, and there is no guarantee that this will be a permanent fix.
Gracie will have to be on crate rest and be limited to leash walks for at least four weeks. She is not a happy camper about this, but we will do everything suggested in hopes of this working so that this will not happen again. She is on pain meds and antibiotics with a heavy duty bandage covering most of her leg.
She will return to the vet for her first follow up visit on 12/20.
Gracie sends her love and gratitude to everyone for making this a reality for her!

Haven and Gracie were left to die in an abandoned trailer that was being torn down. Luckily the man hired to tear the trailer down found them, and they are now being taken care of in a foster home where they are thriving.
Both girls are approximately seven months old, and are extremely affectionate. They are both starved for attention, and were extremely emaciated. They are being fed several small meals a day to get to a healthy weight, and are learning to live the life they should have always had.
