My Story

We have been named after some of the characters in the movie, "The Goonies". The movie was an old-fashioned yarn about a band of adventurous kids. Well, it kind of fits... Our names are Chunk (bigger boy with a yellow collar), Data (sports a blue collar) and Mikey (wears the green collar). All of us arrived at AGPR in early June...maybe 8 weeks old at the time? A 12 year old girl and her dad were driving down the road and the three of us adventurous pups were in the road. Once the car stopped, the girl jumped out to scoop one of us up and in less than a minute, all three of us were in the car...heading for the local animal shelter. We are very grateful that the animal shelter called AGPR. They said they were very full but, since we were small, they would find room for us. And off we went after securing transportation! Being at AGPR is like being in a five star hotel - clean, comfy rooms; room service (3x a day); our own special exercise yard (we get carried out every day but hear that will stop after this week when we have our second puppy shot); air conditioning; lots and lots of love and attention! Who could ask for anything more??? Actually, we would all love forever homes. A little shy upon arrival, we have adjusted fairly well. Chunk is the bigger boy and the first to meet and greet everyone. Mikey is the one with the soulful eyes who will look deep into your heart to make sure you can be trusted and then love you. Data used to hang back and now is starting to follow Chunk's lead. All of us are very, very sweet! All Great Pyrenees require a fenced-in yard (at least four foot high). If you have questions about the breed or our adoption policies and procedures, please go to our website at www.agprescue.org. There's plenty of good information about the breed on our website - Pyrs aren't a breed for everyone! Our adoption application is online: http://agprescue.org/adoption-application/agpr-application-donations/ Please note that we are a small regional rescue organization. We will consider adopting to families within a four to five hour drive to Richmond, VA
