My Story

Hardships often prepare ordinary [felines] for an extraordinary destiny." C.S. Lewis. Zulu has seen his share of hardships. He was found abandoned in East Harlem in terrible shape. His mouth was a mess, missing teeth, teeth that were loose and with exposed roots. His ears were in worse shape, infected and bleeding. His mouth is all cleaned up and healed and his ears are still a work in progress. And through it all, Zulu has amazingly remained happy and loving. In fact, Zulu loves most people as well as other non-dominant cats. He will be your best friend, always by your side. He will softly call out to you if it's past your bedtime so that he can sleep by your feet. For a dumped cat, he is very well mannered, doesn't jump on counters, doesn't scratch your furniture and always uses his litter box. Like your typical 8 yr old cat, his days are filled with naps, window gazing and some playtime. Zulu recently had surgery on his ear and he is healing well but his ears still need treatment in the form of oral and topical medicines as well as regular cleanings and vet check-ups. Luckily this wonderful guy allows you to treat him without too much fuss. We think it's because Zulu is anticipating his extraordinary destiny. Won't you be a part of it?
