Ziggy

Honey-eyed Ziggy is as soft, sweet and gentle as can be. He lives up to the ginger's reputation for vocalizing and communicates clearly with cute warbles and trills when it's time to eat, play or simply comment about life. He favors boxes and felt balls and he is an avid hunter of insects but his greatest pleasure is in relaxed, still observation at the window or from the catio of the goings-on outside, the flight of birds and butterflies and the flutter of leaves. Ziggy has been in a loving home and has excellent manners, no scratching of furniture, no begging for people food. He has learned to have his teeth brushed and his nails trimmed and he understands when prompted to follow, to sit and to give a high five. Ziggy lives together with Charlie who is the same age. Either because he arrived a week earlier or by force of character, Charlie is generally the dominant of the two. He becomes agitated when he feels Ziggy is getting too much affection or attention. We have exercised conscious, sensitive balancing to make sure that Charlie is not provoked to jealousy and that Ziggy does not feel like a second fiddle and withdraw but, as they have grown and developed, we can see that Ziggy's inclination to curl up in our laps is very much tempered by his fearfulness of Charlie's responses to our expression of affection for Ziggy. We want Ziggy to be as happy as he can be so, as much as it pains us to imagine parting from our sweet boy, we have come to believe that he may be happier in another loving home where he does not have to contend with the territoriality and assertiveness of Charlie.
