My Story

Yoshie was a stray and then caught with his brother, Yukon; they are from the same litter as Yona and Yanis. Yoshie seems to be more shy than Yukon and tends to hide a bit more or shy away. Yoshie does allow head pets from foster Mom and doesn't immediately shy away too much. Yoshie has more white on his chest and face (compared to Yukon), and white on his paw. Yoshie is enjoying the lickable treats! He does shy away more than Yukon, but he is eating with Foster Mom there. He will accept head pets and neck scratches; he is getting better and more trusting with human touch. Yoshie is very curious about my dog and doesn't seem to be scared or threatened by him. The dog will come up to his crate and Yoshie will walk over to him and stick his paws through to say hello. Yoshie is extremely sweet and just needs a longer time period to adjust and trust. He is engaging more and really seems to like his brother, Yona. He perks up when Yona comes to visit and play with him and his toys. Yoshie is still very shy and only comes out to interact on his own terms. He really loves playing with Yona, but still hesitant to come out and play with the group. I will say that the other (3) fosters seem to overshadow him; in food and play. Yoshie is always the last one and seems to be the most passive personality. I think this is why the other cats know they can get away with eating from the bowl he is eating from, and getting away with grabbing the toys first. He wants to be in the group, but still working on his confidence. Yoshie is still pretty shy; he does interact with the other cats and has his playful moments. He doesn't like to come out for human pets, but he doesn't hide 24/7 when I'm in the room. I can't pet him unless he is cornered; I try to get head pets, but he pulls away too quickly. Good news to report for Yoshie! Within the last few days he is actually allowing foster Mom to get closer at times and will allow some pets! So happy he is finally expanding his trust. He really seems to have a little more confidence and it shows; in the way he interacts with foster Mom and his siblings. He is still shy and skittish at times, but it's rewarding to get the sweet moments from him. He is very playful as well. He loves to come in and see what you're snacking on too. This sweet boy just needs a patient adopter that is willing to wait for him to come out of his shell. Yoshie will do best in a home with another kitty to play with.
