My Story
ADOPTED!! Yoda is an 8 year old Neutered Male wth light greenish gray eyes. He is just a beautiful, dignified guy, but has a comical look when you get a glimpse of his little "vampire fangs". He really needs to be your only kitty, as he is territorial. Once he knows you, he loves to cuddle in your lap. Very loving and sweet, he is vocal when he wants to get your attention, yet is independent too.
His family is experiencing a forced move and are heartbroken by not being allowed to keep him.
Yoda has known only one home all his life. It was a safe, loving home with a large garden, trees, no dangers, and it was his kingdom. He would adapt well to a new home as soon as he feels secure and knows the sudden change is not a thing to be feared. Like all new cats, he should definitely be kept indoors at least for the first couple of weeks to become securely "rooted" to his new geographic location, if he is to be allowed outside. Traffic areas would be out of the question. Older cats begin to lose their hearing as well as their eyesight dulling and reflexes slowing.
He likes Science Diet Senior cat food, and his medical history is with "Best Friends" in Talent, and "All Creatures" in Medford. He has had occasional outbreaks of urinary tract infections for the past 4 years, which have been treated successfully. He may currently be on a veterinary perscription diet, and if so, needs to be kept on this diet!!
Yoda has a bad allergy to fleas and will actually lose the fur from his back legs if he suffers a flea infestation. Please make sure he gets his Frontline Top Spot treatments, or similar product available from veterianary clinics (NOT over-the-counter products from department stores or pet supply stores).
Please consider giving this mellow, sweet older guy a safe place to spend his Senior years.
UPDATE NOVEMBER 5, 2005: Yoda was adopted and returned... apparently his adopters paid no heed to his information. They soon adopted another cat... commendable, but not according to Yoda's requirements. They also complained that Yoda "didn't know where his litterbox was".
Avoiding the litterbox is one of the signs of painful urination. It is also a sign of protest. These people did not seem to care which, and Yoda was evicted from his home, despite these people claiming to "love him so much".
Yoda needs to be in a home of compassion, with people who actually read his information, who know how to care for his medical condition, and who will not throw him out should he become incovenient as a result of their inattentiveness and lack of compassion. This is not love.
