My Story

Meet Wyatt Earp, named after the famous Western outlaw. He's a handsome, Brown, Striped Tabby with ever-so-slightly crossed eyes, big, round head, thick neck and the sweetest face this side-o-the-Mississippi! We don't know his story; how he ended up outside as an intact male. My guess is he was abandoned when his humans moved away, leaving him to fend for himself in the Wild West. While trying to catch a different cat, Wyatt ended up in my trap. I could tell, the moment he looked into my eyes, that he was a gentle but scared boy so I didn't get him "ear tipped" since he wasn't going to be released back outside. He can be fearful with new sounds and people but will quickly warm up. This boy is such an incredibly affectionate lap cat - who LOVES to be held in your arms (or lap) like a baby! He also loves to be brushed and allows me to trim his claws. Because he's still adjusting to life indoors, I think it's best he was placed in a home with an experienced adopter. He'll also do best with at least one other, young/youngish cat - since he's highly-social and a tad on the needy side. He would get lonely when you're not home and may even demonstrate some separation anxiety when you leave. But with another companion kitty, he should do much better. I also think he needs an experienced adopter who'll be able to continue working with him on trusting humans... since he can still get spooked by unfamiliar people or sounds. Be sure to watch his Adoption Video and fall in L-O-V-E!! You'll find his complete rescue journey chronicled in Photo Album #32 on our Facebook page: "Save The Leadwell Kitties". There you'll find videos and photos of all our rescued cats and kittens... including updates from fosters and adopters. Wyatt's adoption will include his: * Neuter surgery, * De-worming, * FVRCP vaccinations, * Rabies vaccination (if old enough), * Combo-test (for FIV/FeLV = negative), * Flea and mite treatment (with Revolution), * and Micro chipping! ~ $150. adoption fee, adoption contract and home check apply / $250 for a pair ~ * Please only contact us if you'll be making him a permanent member of your household and will be keeping him safe indoors. ** We do not adopt out kittens or cats where they will be the only pet at home. Kittens rely on each other for emotional support and continued social and behavioral development. For example: another kitten or cat will teach them when they're playing too rough or biting too hard. Plus, cats and kittens get very lonely when you're not at home! Having a playmate will keep them happier, healthier and out of trouble. **We offer a discount when adopting a pair! Interested in becoming a much-needed foster? Please send us a message with your best contact info, the type of home environment you can provide and, most-importantly, the City in which you live. Thanks!
