My Story

Wonka is a very special boy who has been though a lot in his short life. He was found on a farm as a very small, frail kitten with an injured front leg. We assume he was hit by a car or some sort of farm equipment as he also had blood coming from one of his ears. Thankfully he had not serious injures, but was left with a slight "lazy eye" so his foster mom lovingly calls him Wonky Wonka. He began to thrive in his foster home and was soon big enough to be neutered. All was going well until his foster mom noticed his belly look distended and abnormal. Shortly after it was confirmed that he had FIP.... Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) is a viral disease that occurs worldwide in cats. It is caused by a virus called feline coronavirus, which tends to attack the cells of the intestinal wall. Up until a few years ago it was a death sentence with no cure. Thanks to the development of Mutian, cats like Wonka are alive and thriving! He finished his 84 days of medication and then his 84 days of observation where he has deemed cured and cleared for adoption! It has been a long road, but Wonka is a fighter and has transformed from a sick little boy to a healthy “teenager”. Wonka would make an amazing addition to any home as he has been around other cats and dogs. His current best friend is his foster moms golden retriever puppy. He would need a home with an age appropriate kitty buddy to keep him company. Wonka has been neutered, is up-to-date on his vaccinations, tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV, and has been microchipped. His adoption fee is $100 To adopt Wonka or any of our wonderful kitties, please fill out an application at https://almosthomekittyrescue.org/adoptable-kitties/ You must be 21 or older to adopt a kitty.
