Winston (Winnie)

Meet Winston (Winnie)! He is definitely the strong silent type except for his crackly meow! Winston is a big boy who was found living on his own in the woods trying to fend for himself. Winnie’s first few months in a foster home were spent laying in one spot looking very sad and broken as if his soul had been shattered and he had given up. It took months of gentle and short interactions to teach him that people can be kind and he was safe to let his guard down. Treat by treat and one pat at a time he learned to come out of his shell. Winnie is still a tad shy but he’s coming around in leaps and bounds! He loves to sleep on the bed and pushes as closely to you as he possibly can. He is learning to play with toys now especially the ones with big feathers. Winnie loves interacting with you and scratches, but he is still learning how to interact like a gentleman. Sometimes when he wants to continue receiving this new found attention if he doesn’t get it when he wants he will give you a very gentle nibble as a friendly reminder that he would like more love! He is ok with dogs that do not bother him. He has slept beside an American Bulldog and had the sweetest of dreams! Winston would be best suited for a quiet household where he can continue to grow his trust and affection with his new family. He does well with female cats but hasn’t quite adjusted to not needing to compete with another male in his territory. Older children would also benefit Winston as small children may seem unpredictable and scary to him. This guy is an absolutely sweet giant that would love to find his forever home! Winston will still need gentle introductions and interactions going forward to continue building his confidence. If you never want to sleep alone again then Winston is your guy!
