My Story

Say hi to Willie. He is a 4 year old male grey tabby cat. The first thing you will notice about Willie is his size. He currently weighs about 25 pounds. He was surrendered to oure rescue when he developed diabetes and his family was not able to administer insulin shots every 12 hours. Since entering our rescue, Willie has lost several pounds and is no longer diabetic! In his prior home, he also had some litterbox issues, but he has not had one issue while with us and since being treated for diabetes. He also seems to do fine with other cats. We are looking for a very special adopter for Willie - one that will continue working on Willie's weight (he is on a strict diet) and one that is also willing to take his Blood Glucose (BG) every few days for at least the next 3-4 months to make sure he does not relapse. It is very easy to take his BG (which we will show you how to do). Any potential adopter also needs to be aware that Willie could relapse and become diabetic again (although we do not think he he will). Willie is a gentle giant who craves home attention and loves to play with toys and will roll over to show you his belly. In the past he has lived with other cats and wouldn't mind a laid back friend to share a space with. Cats are negative for FelV/FIV, receive age-appropriate vaccines and deworming, are spayed/neutered and are microchipped (free lifetime registration with adoption). All of our pets go home with a "Go Home Goody Bag" that includes a starter supply of food, treats, toys, and a voucher for a free month of pet insurance from Trupanion. Location: Bolton, CT Adoption Fee: $200
