My Story

For inquiries contact [email protected]. Information and application are at www.staf.org. Our beautiful Ebony Sleek girl, Violet, came to us from a rough neighborhood along with her kittens. Violet and her babies were all fending for themselves for food and territory. We noticed right away that she walked with a limp, and it was determined she had an old, painful injury requiring that her damaged leg be amputated. After her convalescence, Violet moved into one of our large rooms and she can often be found in the same area of her room that she feels is her safety zone. You can imagine after all she has been through defending herself and her family that she would be cautious in life. We know for a fact though that when things are quiet, she makes the rounds in her room, and in particular, she loves to snuggle with her kitty mate, Rose. Violet often looks like she is scared since her eyes get big when someone enters her room, but she really is just watching and staying on alert. She has several volunteers who have gotten to know this young girl, and she warms right up for pets, loves to have her ears, chin and back scratched. Our once very shy girl has really gotten brave and is truly interested in attention. It will take a minute to realize she is ready since she looks with great intent as if to ask about your intentions. If you are willing to give Violet a quiet and comfy place to call her own, she will come into bloom once she knows she is safe and secure! DOB 6/2021 Cat adoption information and application can be found at www.staf.org. All cats and kittens have been vet-checked, spayed/neutered, and are up-to-date on vaccinations. Adoption fee includes carrier, scratching pad, starter pack of food and litter, and toy. We prefer kittens be adopted in pairs. We offer free advice anytime about your adopted cat. If, for any reason, it doesn't work out, we will take the cat back, anytime in the future. Potential adopters must be interviewed in person, at the shelter, and live within 150 miles of Cincinnati. We will ask you to return to the shelter for a second visit to be sure of your decision. Sorry, we do not ship our cats or kittens! Please email Jean at [email protected] for more info. on adopting!
