My Story

VANELLOPE IS IN A FOSTER HOME CURRENTLY, BUT MEET AND GREETS CAN BE ARRANGED MONDAY-FRIDAY AT HSCC BY CALLING THE FELINE DEPARTMENT AT 410-848-4810 EXT 822. Meet Vanellope, a beautiful 3 year old, spayed female cat! Vanellope came to the shelter very pregnant, and has raised her 6 kittens in a foster home for the past few months. Now that they are all being adopted, this sweet lady is in the market for her very own family to love and cherish her as she deserves. She has done great in her foster home, and is a very calm and friendly kitty. She can be a bit cat selective, but has coexisted pretty well in a group setting with many different personalities. She has also been exposed to large dogs, and does not seem bothered by them. Vanellope always hits the litterbox, and is not destructive, although she does sometimes scratch a sofa arm or 2. Lots of different scratching post and cat towers definitely help with that. She is also not super fond of being picked up, but is not mean about it. If Vanellope sounds like she could be a good fit for your home, please schedule a meet! She is still in her foster home currently, but meet and greets can be scheduled Monday-Friday at HSCC during normal adoption hours. Adoptable cats/kittens are spayed/neutered, started on core vaccines per shelter protocols, microchipped, FIV/FeLV tested, and started on monthly preventatives. To schedule an appointment, and/or to learn more information regarding a particular animal, please call the Feline Department at 410-848-4810 ext 822. If no one answers, please leave a detailed message with your name and phone number, and the call will be returned by end of business Monday - Friday. Adopters can prepare for their visit by being 21 years of age or older, having permission from their landlord to bring a new pet into their household, having some form of ID that shows their current address, and by bringing a suitable carrier to take their new companion home in. The adoption fee can be paid using cash, debit or credit and is based on age: Cats 1 year and younger are $75; cats 2 years to 7 years are $50; and 8 years and older are $25.
