Meet Valerie! Valeria is estimated to be approximately 1-2 years old. She was found in a Stockton neighborhood backyard in October 2023 with a litter of kittens, which have all been adopted out. At first, we believed Valeria was feral and the plan was to TNR her, but she was simply a young scared mom trying to protect her litter of kittens. Once the family was rescued, Valeria warmed up to humans because she saw they were just helping her and the babies. After kittens were old enough to get adopted out, Valeria began to show more of her personality. She is just like a friendly loving kitten herself who never received that affection as a baby. She purrs, meows at you, allows you to pick her up and cuddle her. She enjoys playing and gets along with other cats & doesn’t mind small/medium dogs as long as they’re nice to her. If you call her name, she responds and expects to be petted. She enjoys attention but knows how to be independent. Valeria has a good report with Sofia, also available for adoption if you’re looking for a pair and they enjoy each others company. All Second Chance Kitty cats are free-fed a quality dry food with low or no grain and are STRICTLY INDOOR ONLY. Studies have proven cats live longer, healthier lives and on average require less financial burdens at veterinary offices when they are kept indoor only. There are so many predators out there, both human and animal and it is sadly unsafe to let them roam unattended. All of our babes come altered, microchipped, vaccinated, rabies (if age appropriate), FeLV/FIV negative unless stated otherwise , dewormed, flea treated, litter box trained and full of love. Our adoption fees are a minimum $150 donation. Anything beyond $150 helps rescue another babe. Adoption isn't an impulsive decision, it must be thought out carefully. Owning a cat is a 15 to 20+ year commitment. Can we afford a cat? If we're renting do they allow pets here? Is there a pet deposit? Can we afford the pet deposit? What if we get sick, what if the kitty becomes ill and has to see a veterinarian? Kitty requires routine check-ups, annual vaccines, quality food, litter and toys, can we afford this?
