My Story

Friendly, curious purr-machine UFC 300 is a handsome lover-boy. He loves to boop your hands with his nose, and he melts into the floor when you start scratching his chin. He's a total lap cat and likes to sleep on you when you're lounging on the couch or in bed. UFC is generally calm and low-key, but when you break out the toys, he's all over them - especially wand toys and little balls! He still has a lot of kitten-like energy and will run and chase with the best of them. Most of the time he's the strong silent type, but he won't hesitate to talk smack if you're late serving him a meal. He gets along very well with his foster's dog. He was scared at first, but with a long slow introduction he's now so comfortable that he'll sit on the dog's paws. He would do well with a calm dog, given a proper introduction. UFC is being treated for stomatitis, which is an inflammation of the mouth. He is scheduled for full mouth extractions, which is a typical treatment for stomatitis. He requires a wet food diet, and may need some extra medical care, which may include medication. For more information, please contact APA! UFC has had a couple of teeth removed, plus an opening in his palate was surgically closed. That has helped a lot, and he is now such a food hound that he inhales his own food and then tries to sneak food from the dog's bowl! UFC would thrive in a home where there are people around to love on him and play with him. He's such a great companion! UFC 300 has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. He can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care. All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet UFC 300, please email [email protected].
