My Story

3/31/2008:TOPAZ HAS FINALLY BEEN ADOPTED! CONGRATS TO HIM & HIS NEW FAMILY! PLEASE CALL (352)871-2012(cell) or (352)490-6608(home) or E-MAIL YOUR INTEREST!! BE SURE TO LEAVE MESSAGE!!! YOU CAN NOW ADOPT TOPAZ FOR ONLY $25.00 OR GET HIM AND A FRIEND FOR ONLY $40.00. THAT IS ($50.00 off of our regular adoption fee) Due to recent, unfortunate circumstances, we will now ONLY accept CASH as payment for his adoption fee....we apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause our adopters. WE ARE TRYING TO PLACE TOPAZ WITH A LOVING FAMILY FOR THE HOLIDAYS! GET A LIFETIME GIFT OF LOVE OR DOUBLE UP AND GET TWICE THE FUN !!!UPDATE:11/21/06: LIKE A CHALLENGE??THEN...TOPAZ IS IT! He is about 1 year old now but still a baby in the big scheme of things!!Topaz has never completely warmed up to human companionship and is still quite skittish. he would be a good cat for someone who likes the aloof and attitudinal type of cat. This boy does have attitude!!! I don't really recommend him for a home where you (or small children)want to pick up the cat and squeeze him and love on him-he probably wouldn't tolerate that too well. He gets along well with other cats and probably could become accustomed to nice dogs but has no direct contact with dogs here so not really sure about that. He is a beautiful boy and I know that there is someone out there who can give him a great new home!! ALL HE NEEDS IS SOME SPACE AND A KIND, PATIENT FAMILY. I AM SURE THAT HE WOULD BECOME AN EXTREMELY NICE CAT IF GIVEN THE RIGHT ENVIRONMENT. 7/6/06: Topaz is getting better with being touched-we are getting less and less hissing/growling(almost none now). I think that with consistent affection/attention, he will be a very sweet cat-REMEMBER...he was semi-wild so he is making remarkable strides in becoming a SUPER housecat!!!Topaz is approx 12 weeks old and has been neutered, vacc and tested negative for feline leukemia/AIDS. Topaz is part of a semi-feral litter and he is still a bit terrified of people but we will be working with him and hope to get him tamed down so he can be an enjoyable family companion. Topaz is litter trained and will let you touch him but he is just alittle scared still. He is still young enough to overcome this fear and will probably adjust VERY quickly to a patient, loving home. In the meantime, we will be socializing him here. If you would be interested in making Topaz king of your castle, please contact us and send us an adoption application. Pics available soon!
