Tommy was a stray from Parkersburg, Iowa and he is now a Waverly Pet Rescue kitty. He is living in a foster home. He is up to date on shots, neutered, and FeLV / FIV negative.
Tommy is about 11 years old as of Jan. 2024. Tommy was a little on the 'wild side' when he arrived. When neutered, they did ear-tip him because they weren't sure if he was just really, really scared or feral, but now that can be the story of how he turned out to be a lovable little guy and kinda just adds character to his appearance. He is a gorgeous boy with beautiful 'owl-like' eyes, as you can see from his pictures! He's still a little skittish and will need someone who will love him and give him time to adjust to all the sights, sounds and smells of his new home before allowing him to roam free!
12/13/2017 UPDATE: Tommy loves to be petted and seeks me out for attention. His favorite spot to be petted is near his back end and he will raise it up to show how much he loves it. He also is not a total fan of being held, but allows it more and more as he gets to know me. He still can be skittish at times with new experiences, but he relaxes after a little while. Tommy will win your heart once you get to know him. And you will win his once he gets to know you. Older children in the home would be best since he can be so shy still. He does great with my kind cat loving daughters, ages 10 and 13. Does well with other cats after proper introductions.
6/14/24 UPDATE: Tommy is a great cat. Does well with other cats after proper introductions. Tommy will win your heart once you get to know him. And you will win his once he gets to know you. Older children in the home would be best since he can be so shy still. He needs a home that can set him up in one room and go slow with letting him settle in. So worth it once you get to know him!

All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters.
Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $200 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.
