Tipsy is 8 years old and was rescued with another cat after they were intentionally locked in a bedroom for days without food or water. They were both in critical condition and organ failure when they came to Sunrise and along with outstanding veterinary care, our director Karen saved their lives with around the clock hand feedings to gently restore them to health. AMAZING. Tipsy was the worse off of the two, and it was very touch and go for him at first. He showed an enormous will to survive, however, and was very tolerant and gentle as we syringe fed him hour after hour on the way to his recovery.
After he resumed normal functioning, Tipsy spent several more weeks regaining most of his former strength and he is now READY TO GO! He is very calm and friendly with other cats and our shelter's volunteer chihuahua mix, not to mention people.
Tipsy could go with his former roommate, Mystic, the other cat who survived the abuse. They are not closely bonded but they do get along well.
