My Story

Tiny Tim's had a few names in his short life. He was born with 4 little siblings on or around April 10th 2009 to a Mum named "Bootsie" in a place unknown. He, his mum and his brothers and sisters moved into the yard of a friend of ours at the tail end of May - Where their grandchildren named him Tiger. His mum was instantly cuddly, but he and the other kittens were a little nervous and weren't so keen on human attention at first. She'd obviously had a family before, but after asking around and contacting the local animal shelter & animal control people we were left completely in the dark as to where they'd all come from. The Mummy cat was spayed and still she managed to look forward to (and enjoy) visits from humans large and small. And still the little family hung out at our friends' house where they learned to climb trees, chase down little bugs, trust humans a little more each day and yell in chorus each and every dinner time. For all the attention they had, most of the kittens were unapproachable by humans unless they were eating. But Tiny Tim was different. Right from the start he'd been the bravest of them all, he was the first to be touched, the first to get a cuddle and the first to fall asleep around a person's neck. We were thinking all this humanizing was all he needed to find a good home with a loving family, but sadly on August 3rd, his Mummy packed up his brothers and sisters and moved home leaving Tiny Tim behind all alone. He spent a few days by himself during which time he was so scared he hid under bushes and wouldn't come out for anything other than food. And then a fantastic breakthrough on August 8th when he decided that if he was to be abandonded by cats he was going to turn into fully fledged human lover. Tummy tickling resumed with full force. We have since found his mum and the other 4 kittens a few houses away but Tiny Tim was so remarkably friendly by this time that we decided not to reintroduce him to the others. His vet has got him all checked out. His report: very healthy, very friendly, a very sweet and lovable little kitty.
