My Story

The contact link is not working consistently. Please message kitty's foster parent directly. Gwen: Email: [email protected] Text: 925-239-5112 When you text or email it is imperative that you state your name and what kitten you are inquiring about. The Soda Fountain 5 were brought into the shelter when they were about a day or two old. One of our DAWG volunteers went out to the area where the person said she had found them numerous times hoping to find their mama with no luck. They've been in a foster home, bottle-fed and hand-raised since they were taken to the shelter. If you can handle twice the love, these kittens would love being adopted in pairs. They've never been apart. That said, they're kittens and kittens adapt quite well to new environments. Spritz has the classic tortie look with the "split" face that looks like she was kinda put together with spare parts. She's a stunning beauty. **Note: Spritz and Bubbles are the smallest of the litter. We can schedule a meet & greet and "pre-adopt" but neither of them will be allowed to leave their foster home until they're larger. If you've never had a former bottle baby in your home, you're in for a treat. They imprint on humans as they never had a mama cat to care for them. They had mama humans, reliant on humans for everything mama kitty provides: warmth, protection, food, bathing, even going potty because newborn kittens cannot do that on their own. All 5 of these kittens are human-centered, purr constantly, and want human interaction. They're also great at entertaining themselves and each other. They are nonstop playing and purring machines, and when it's time for a nap they'll seek out a sibling, a human lap, and occasionally a cushy kitty bed. They'll cat nap and get right back at it. The adoption will be coordinated with their foster mom and the adopter: Douglas County Animal Services 921 Dump Road Gardnerville. Shelter staff will administer the kitten's microchip and second FVRCP shot at the adoption. The adopter will be responsible for scheduling a wellness exam and for scheduling sterilization. If the adopter chooses one of our contracted veterinary offices, the adoption paperwork will cover the cost of sterilization and rabies shot. If another vet is used, the adopter may submit documentation of both sterilization and rabies shot to the shelter, and the shelter will refund the adoption fee.
