My Story

We want you to meet a very special family from West Virginia - Momma Sweets and her delightful baby dessert treats: Marmalade, Taffy, Moonpie and Cupcake.Sweets was a kitten herself when she was given away because the owner of the property where she was born couldn't care for all the many cats there. All of then were outside and trying their best to survive. But when Sweets ended up pregnant, her new owners dropped her back at the original property Again to fend for herself and also now her new babies.A neighbor stepped in to rescue her and the kittens when they saw her daily moving them out of harms way. In one case, Sweets left them on a porch where two toppled into a trash can full of briars. Thanks to our incredible network of volunteers and donors, this family was placed into a foster home where they are safe and growing up healthy and happy! The kittens will be ready for adoption mid-July. If interested, get your application in early! Let's not forget Sweets who will also need her forever home. As her name suggests, she is surprisingly sweet and social and very friendly given her rough start in life. She deserves a very happy next chapter Please note that it is Fancy Cats' policy that kittens have an age-appropriate playmate in the home. We also do not adopt kittens to families with children under six years old without seeing appropriate history/experience with cats. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter and microchip. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have. The adoption policies and applications can be found at the following links: https://fancycats.org/adopt-a-cat and https://fancycats.org/adopt-a-dog. Email us at [email protected] for general questions about our rescued cats. Email us at [email protected] for general questions about our rescued dogs. See our calendar of adoption events at https://fancycats.org/(scroll towards bottom) You can save animals like this one by becoming a foster! Fosters are like bridges between high kill shelters and forever homes. We need fosters so that we can save cats and dogs before they are euthanized at the shelters.
