Please Help By Sharing Sylvester Post Looking For His Forever Home This is his Story................ Sylvester-a lady had reached out with his picture on Facebook asking for help as he had just showed up in her yard and started eating her cat's food. You could see by the pictures he had something going on with his back, road rash, burned, none of us knew. My youngest and I went and set a trap under the trees in her yard and within 20 minutes he went in and we had him. My friend came and scanned him and he had no chip. Even in his condition and just being trapped he was a sweet guy! I brought him home and let him get acclimated for a couple hours in a room. After that I assisted him and to my surprise while rubbing him all down to see what I was going to have to help him with, he started PURRING!!! He went to the vet the next day where it was figured out that this was most likely intentionally done to him, as he had third degree burns on his back and very clean cuts all around his neck and on the back of one ear. I had to change his dressings and put medicine on him twice daily and also figure out how to keep him from making his wounds worse with licking or scratching. So he had some interesting outfits to begin with! But he was such a trooper! He always let me do what I needed to do without really putting up a fight. He's all healed now, but does still wear a cone and clothes so he cannot scratch or lick where he was burned, unfortunately his hair never grew back and the skin is very thin, so even a lick will make it bleed. He is such a sweet guy though! As soon as anyone sits down on the couch, he's on their lap giving them the best massage ever! He loves attention and he does love the kittens and their toys. He does well with my dogs, but my personal adult cats he is not a fan of, especially our skittish and nervous ones. I'm sure he would do well living with confident feline friends. He does need to be brushed, sponge bathed and his clothes changed about once weekly depending on how dirty he has gotten, as he cannot do most of his body himself since he wears a cone and clothes most of the time.
