Surprise, a sweet silky black cat was discovered in an abandoned home after all inhabitants moved out. It seemed as though he had a family at one time due to his gentle nature. Surprise came to the shelter scared and depressed, which is no surprise when you lose the only home and possible only family you have ever known. After his two week quarantine was over, he moved to a community cat room, which was equally scary, even though the other kitties in the room were friendly and gentle. Surprise has now discovered he is safe and he has begun to relax and explore his new temporary home. He enjoys pets and attention, but only if you proceed slowly, and for this reason, young children and over active pets would not be a good idea. Surprise will do well in a quiet home, perhaps with another gentle, mellow kitty, where he can learn to trust that he is in his forever home.
