UPDATE: June 2009.Spectro is having normal stools!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are now able to keep him stable with hypo-allergenic cat food. We were giving him vitaman B12 shoots as was suggested by his guardian angel Karen..thank you XO. He is now very ready for a new home!
Spectro came to us suffering from diarrhea and it has been determined he has IBD with an intestinal biopsy. Since Feline IBD reflects some cats' inability to tolerate certain foods, dietary changes play a large part in control of the disease. He was originally left at a shelter because of his health . He did originally test positive for coccidiosis (a parasitic disease of the intestinal tract) and after treatment he was fine despite his continual loose stools. This is what prompted us to seek further information about his symptoms. We have done all that is medically possible and at a cost of over $2,000! . He is now eating well and playing like every young kitten should. He is more than happy to be with lots of other felines, humans and dogs. He is super friendly and has such a wonderful happy-go-lucky attitude towards everyone! He truly is a magnificent cat and just desperate to find a family to love!
