My Story

Shasta is an adorable little grey three-year-old cat who is small in stature but big in attitude! She is a smart and curious kitty who likes to communicate with her foster – by chirps, meows, even some growls, quickly figuring out how to communicate when her food bowl is empty, for instance! She is not a meower in general – all her vocalizations seem to be for the purpose of communication. As a young cat she lived with bunnies and so seems to get along with small animals, although she would likely prefer to be the only kitty in the home. Shasta is somewhat nervous in temperament but is a sweet and affectionate kitty who likes to follow her foster around the house to make sure she isn’t missing anything. She likes to snuggle next to her foster on the couch, purring softly, and is a champion leg-rubber. She also likes to be pet, but can get over-stimulated when pet ‘too much’. She likes to sit up high and watch the birds and goings on outside. Shasta is a fun and spunky kitty with a little bit of ‘cattitude’ who would make a great addition to a quiet home with no young children. We have not seen her interact with dogs. NOTE 1: Spays, neuters, first vaccinations and vet checks are included in the adoption fee. NOTE 2: Because a young kitten needs feline companionship, it is the policy of Cat Rescue Network that kittens 6 months or younger be adopted out in pairs unless there is another kitten or young cat already in the home. NOTE 3: Cat Rescue Network only adopts their cats to homes in the National Capital region of Canada.
