My Story

Before applying for this cat, please think the decision over thoroughly and make sure the whole family is in agreement. Owning a cat is a huge responsibility that is not something that should be rushed into. Each cat from Rescued Treasures has been saved from an uncertain future. If you are thinking about adopting, please remember it is a LIFE-LONG commitment. Cats can live to be at least 14 years old...are you ready to take care of him/her that long? Please submit an application (use a computer, laptop or tablet. The phone app sometimes fails to reach us. http://www.rescued-treasures.com/cat-application/ DOB: 11/15/2015 Scarlet was brought into RT on 11/15/17, from the city streets with 2 young babies. She is a survivor. She had to protect her babies so her fear was a big influence on her personality to begin with. I have been her foster for the past 3 years. Scarlet is now a sweet cat who can be a little sassy at times. If a foot gets in her way she swats at your shoe while scolding it. She will lay on her blanket next to my computer and enjoys head scratches plus ear rubs at any time. You can comb and brush her head, cheeks, chin and down her back to her tail. She is sensitive if you brush her sides. She will follow her person (right now that is me) from one room to the next. Temptation treats Backyard cookout (Red label) are her favorite. She will pretty much do what you need her to do if it involves treats. She currently lives with other cats and a dog but prefers that they do not interact with her but sometimes she likes to run with some of them. She considers my cat Leo to be a pest. He stares at her and when he tries to get close or play with her, she reacts negatively towards him. She doesn’t like to be picked up. I get her into a crate by throwing treats in it. Nail trimming needs to be done at the vet. I recommend a tall litter box. She is not messy but is a big cat. She must have a tall scratching post. She loves high places. Top of the fridge is one of them. Kitchen counter tops are another favorite place but I don’t allow it so if I see her lining up for a jump I tell her no. If she is already up there, I tell her to get down and she does. Her sassy side which only shows itself occasionally consists of increased side to side tail swishing, a bit of an angry meow along with swatting her paws. She doesn't bite but does attempt to bit. She plays in a similar fashion but when she is being playful there isn't an angry meow. She hasn't had any experience with children, but I feel she wouldn't be a good fit due to her occasional naughty ways. She is a good kitty and deserves her forever home like all the others. She just needs someone to love her just the way she is. If you would like to meet this cat, please fill out an application at http://rescued-treasures.com/cat-application/.
