My Story

UPDATE 7/11/09: Sam is still waiting for adoption. We know someone will fall in love with him soon. Please stop by PetsMart and visit him. UPDATE 6/11/09: Sam is at our PetsMart location on Archer Road in Gainesville now!!!! We have learned a little more about Sam during his time with us. He does not seem to like dogs. Sam makes that deep guttural growl when he hears them as a sign of hatred. He seems fine with cats and he loves all people. Please stop by and visit our Sam at PetsMart. UPDATE 6/7/09: Sam is still at the vet office waiting for a space at our adoption site. Sam is a very affectionate and loving boy. He is truly a gentle lover boy! He likes petting and doesn't seemed bothered by the other cats around him but he has not been out with them. Sam is not an aggressive or overly bold cat. He will most likely hide from strangers but after a small adjustment period in his new home he would love to snuggle with his new human. This great big casanova deserves to have a happier ending than living in a cage. It wasn't his fault that his owner passed away but he is paying the price. Please e-mail us at [email protected] to set up a time to meet Sam. POSTED 5/27/09: Sam is our gentle giant. He is a 12 years old, neutered male, large over 12 lb, short haired brown tabby bengal mix. He doesn't have papers but he is large and handsome. Sam's owner died and now he is very scared. Sam was taken in as a 6 month old kitten and since then he has lived a quiet and happy life, mainly in his human's bedroom. Now his world has turned upside down. For the past month, strangers to Sam, but friends of his deceased owner, have been coming by to feed him. They finally decided to turn him over to our rescue. They were scared that Sam would not make it through the shelter system...being that he is a senior and he has a very gentle heart and gentle nature but is shy. Sam would love to live in a quiet apartment or with an older owner just like he has for the past 12 years. He is a good boy and just needs an understanding human to save him. If you are interested in meeting Sam, please e-mail us at [email protected] to fill out our questionnaire, or visit PetsMart on Archer Road in Gainesville from 11am-5pm Sat and Sun. Sam may be there this weekend. All of our cats and kittens have been leukemia tested, vaccinated, vet checked, spayed or neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and treated with advantage multi. Our adoption fee i $100 per cat or kitten to help cover a portion of the medical and care costs.
