My Story

On July 18, 2024, a resident in our community posted that he spotted a kitten (Juliette) in his yard, but he couldn’t get near it. My husband drove over to take a look, and sure enough, he found the kitten lying in the dirt. The kitten was overheated, severely dehydrated, and malnourished, so once we got her to the house, we gave her the full rescue “spa treatment” – a bath, nail trim, deworming, flea treatment, and fluids. After a few days, to our great joy, she fully recovered. We named her Juliette because we caught her in July. Romeo came to us on July 21, 2024. He is fostered with Juliette. Romeo and Juliette are so similar in size, color, age, and behavior, we suspect they are siblings “dumped” around the area in different local communities. He and Juliette look to be about nine weeks old, so we’ll call their birthday May 19, 2024. Unlike Juliette, other than being very hungry, Romeo was in great shape. Both are lanky little panthers (all black) except for the tiniest specks of white that you don’t notice unless you look for them. Romeo and Juliette may or may not be biological siblings; we will never know for sure, but they immediately began playing and napping together, almost like they recognized each other. Regardless, they are certainly an adorable pairing, and since they began their rescue journey together, our strong preference is that they be adopted together. Both kittens are completely litter trained and FIV/FeLV negative. Our rescue adoption fee is $150 for one kitten and $225 for two. The fee covers FIV/FeLV testing, deworming, vaccinations, and spay/neuter with a partner clinic. To set up a visit, drop me a note at [email protected] or PM me. If you are considering adopting, please fill out and submit the adoption contract found in The Adoption Process link on my website (cherylsferalsandfosters.com). In the meantime, you can follow their journey on Facebook: Cheryl’s Ferals and Fosters Chat Group. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3).
