My Story

This handsome mature man with the gorgeous flowing fur and the big soulful eyes is named Rocky.

Rocky is a very sweet, gentle and affectionate cat. He loves petting and will give you wonderful headbutts in return. It's hard to believe but Rocky was actually abandoned by his heartless owner who moved out of an apartment building and left poor Rocky there alone to fend for himself. How could anyone throw away such a beautiful and loving animal?

Although he doesn't look it, Rocky just turned 8 years old. That might sound a little old but do you know that with proper care and nutrition an indoor cat can live as long as 21 years or even longer! And unlike people, cats don't get gray and wrinkled. Instead, Rocky will remain a feast for the eyes and have years and years more of his love and companionship to offer. Rocky may be in the autumn of his life, but that just makes him more deserving of a loving home to live out his days.

Cats 8 years and older can have a fairly difficult time of getting adopted. Some people express concerns about their health care and often want kittens or younger cats that are more energetic. We have found that senior humans (55+) understand and usually prefer an older cat that has a calmer and more relaxed nature. The opportunity to share quiet companionship makes senior-to-senior adoption a perfect match. To facilitate this win-win situation we have developed our Mature Companions Adoption Program.
