My Story

BIG NEWS! ROB'S ADOPTION FEE WAS SPONSORED BY SUBARU OF GWINNETT! Hello there, I'm Rob! I may be an adult, but my spirit is as lively as a kitten's. I've got a heart full of sweetness and a head full of curiosity! I love all animals and have lived with both dogs and cats. I'm also a mellow fellow, content with simple pleasures. I do have special needs, but that doesn't slow me down. I'm just as capable of giving and receiving love. Despite my missing teeth, I've got a big, toothless grin that's contagious!! Adopting me means gaining a loyal friend who will make every day a little brighter! Rob came from a kill shelter when he was only a few weeks old. He was placed on a nursing momma that had 3 different litters she was taking care of! It was a bit of a rough start for Rob as he had to fight for room at the milk bar. We supplemented him with formula so he could survive. Just like children born to human parents, genetics can sometimes cause little issues here and there. Rob was not generating B12 as a kitten, which prevented him from absorbing nutrients. It has taken a while, but he is finally stable with his B12 production and absorbing all his nutrients just fine! Rob has a congenital disorder and takes a daily supplement, Denamarin, to help his body process food. Without it, he may get a severe upset stomach and other symptoms that take months to improve. The pills cost about $1 each (on Chewy) and he gladly eats it up in a pill pocket with a little food. For a kitty as sweet as Rob, and compared to others, this is a very small cost. Ready to adopt? Please complete our on line application here: http://www.pethoodga.org/index.php/cat-adoption-request. It will be reviewed and we will contact you. Rob is negative for FIV/FeLV, neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations. The kitty has a microchip that will be transferred to the adopter upon completion of the adoption process.
