My Story

Description of pet ***The Ark of Hope Rescue does not have an adoption fee but we do ask that you consider what The Ark of Hope Rescue does for all the animals that arrive here and make a monetary donation to the rescue. All the animals that come to the rescue have been abused, abandoned or neglected. Most come with large vet bills, the only means that we have to pay our bills, food, treats, bedding, toys...supplies are by your financial donations! Also this rescue is staffed CONPLETELY by volunteers, NO paid salaries here! Sheba is a sweet and gentle kitty, DOB approximately Jan 2016. She had been abandoned at the federal prison in Cumberland, MD. She arrived at The Ark of Hope and two weeks later we realized that Sheba was gaining weight fast, a lot of weight really fast! Hummm that's not just gaining weight she was growing kittens! Then the evening of June 28, 2017 she went into labor. By the next morning Sheba had delivered 6 beautiful kittens. (As seen in the one picture) In 8 weeks the kittens will be able to be adopted. Sheba is ready for adoption. It takes her time to get used to new people, she is afraid at first. All Sheba needs now is a family that will be patient with her, love her and allow her to love them back. Could you be Sheba’s new family? She is looking for a perfect family, one that will keep her inside the house and never let her outside to be hurt again. If you are interested in adopting lovable. Sheba or any of the other animals at The Ark of Hope Rescue you can go to: www.arkofhoperescue.org under the film strip of pictures click on “Our Adoption Procedure” then scroll down the page until you see “Cat Adoption Application” fill it out and attach it to an email to [email protected]. It’s easy! When we receive the application we will send you an email confirmation. Once we check the references we will be in touch. If you don't hear from someone within 24 hours please call 301-478-3300 ask for Dianne.
