My Story

Hi I'm Pumpkin! I came to WAG when my chronic health condition was not getting better with treatment and I needed some extra care and consistency to try and heal me for good. My loving guardian knew that WAG would get me the help I so needed to recover and then be able to find me an environment to thrive and stay healthy in the future. For the past couple of years I have been having trouble believed to be caused by something called 'Eosinophilic Granuloma Complex'. This is an inflammatory condition caused by an inappropriate immune response that can have a variety of causes and symptoms. In my case I have a large ulcer on my upper lip and a large legion on my side being treated with steroids, along side daily cleanings with a prescription wash followed by some special cream. I am settling into WAG well and am such a good patient! I am super friendly, loveable and my favourite things are getting lots of cuddles, being brushed and I even purr whilst the staff are cleaning my sore wounds. I love making biscuits and I love eating biscuits even more. I'm not too mobile right now but I'm enjoying exploring the cattery at WAG and playing with all of the toys. Human company is the best, but I can often be found taking an afternoon nap in my soft bed and have been excellent with my litter box habits. I am very grateful to the team at Pemberton Vet who have looked after me for a while now, I will be monitored and taken to a recheck in a few weeks. Fingers crossed I will be feeling better then and they will be proud of me for my progress. We will update his profile as we learn more about him and his needs, including further medical care and his suitable home environment moving forwards. If you are able to open your heart and home to him please view his full profile at www.whistlerwag.com/pumpkinthecat/ to learn more! The first step to adoption at WAG is to fill in an application form online, from there a member of staff will be in touch to chat further and arrange next steps. Must be able to travel to Whistler for meet and greet appointments. Cats like me with ongoing health concerns requiring lots of medication and rechecks often spend longer awaiting adoption which can require lots of resources. But, thanks to donations to WAG's Critical Care Program special cases like mine can be taken on to offer us a second chance at health and happiness. if you are not able to adopt at this time, please consider donating to their fund if you are in a position to do so!
