Happy Summer! Kitten Season is in full swing again and we need to make room to get Moms and kittens (and older kitties too!) so we can get them fixed and find them homes! Please consider adopting- especially some of our older residents! Remember you save TWO cats lives and make countless more cats & kittens lives better by adopting! Pumpkin is a domestic short haired grey tabby & white spayed female, up to date on her shots, around 2 years old and available for adoption to be an indoor ONLY cat from Griffith Animal Control/Treasured Friends Rescue in Northwest Indiana! Everyone says I'm a beautiful girl, so why am I at the shelter?? I had a home and I was a nice kitty, so what happened? Why I am here? I was told my owner had to give me up, so I lost my home. I've met ALOT of other kittens that's happened to recently too. Why? Aren't kitties part of the family too? Ugh...It made me really sad at first but I guess I just need to move on and find a new human who will love me and give me the forever home I've wanted all along. I am a little shy at first but once you pet me, I LOVE it..it makes me sooo happy and purrrrrry! I'm not a kitten but I still like to play too! It makes me really sad to just sit in a cage when I had a home before. I can't wait to get another chance though! I would love to give all my love to someone who will love me too! Come see me at the shelter today! I have my own "room" there and we can visit! if you have another kitty already we should be able to get along (with the proper introduction period). Our fosters & volunteers work with shy and/or unsocialized kitties everyday to get them used to being pet and to show them no one will hurt them. However, when they go to a new home, some kitties will require extra time to get used to new surroundings and different people. Please consider giving a kittie who might need a little time to get used to a new home, a chance. This is a serious commitment and it sets the kitties back in their level of trust if they are given up after a few weeks or months.
