Meet Prima!
Prima is a 1 year old friendly, but slightly scared, beautiful petite torbie seeking her furever family!
Prima grew up outside with lots of feline friends & relatives. They had a lovely colony feeder who helped them trust humans. When we got Prima and everyone else fixed, she was too sweet to put back outside.
It's only taken me about a week to gain a good chunk of her trust already, we are making progress by the day!
She does need someone willing to be patient with her and let her get comfortable on her own timeline. She loves head rubs, chin scratches, and even rolls over to give me access to her belly for rubs :)
Her light torbie coloring is very unique and striking. I believe given some time she will gain lots of confidence and eventually be running your household! She doesn't mind other cats but may be scared of dogs, although she'd possibly do fine with a mellow dog given proper acclimation process.
Currently in foster care in Hollywood, CA. We can transport to approved adopter in LA county and some parts of OC. Foster-to-adopt is always an available option and recommendation.
All Del Gato kitties are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for FIV/FeLv, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption.
To begin the application process, please fill out our application here: https://form.jotform.com/212117959297062
We will try our best to be in touch within 24-48 hours.
Thank you!

Del Gato Rescue is a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit cat rescue based in Los Angeles, CA. We are a handful of volunteers who work normal jobs by day and rescue cats on nights & weekends. We receive countless daily requests from the community for assistance with cats and kittens found outside in need of rescue.
We focus on rescuing friendly cats from the streets, getting them healthy and vetted in foster care, and finding their purrrfect forever home! We prevent hundreds of cats per year from entering our city shelters and being euthanized.
We also TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and vaccinate unadoptable/feral street cats, which we believe is the only solution to the root cause of the feline population crisis. We currently TNR roughly 24 cats/month.
When space allows, we also pull death-row cats from local high kill shelters, work with them in foster care, get them up to date on their healthcare, and match them with their new forever family.
If you'd like to volunteer with us, fostering is a great way to help our cause, and it allows us space to save more kitties off the streets.
If you are unable to foster, we are also always looking for help with transportation to and from vet appointments.
