This handsome man came to us from NYC after his home burned down. When Potato arrived to the NYC shelter with his kitty housemates he was absolutely terrified - and who can blame him! He lost everything he knew and now he & his friends found themselves in a busy new environment. We decided to give him a chance in our care where it is quiet and relaxed, and thankfully Potato is thriving! After taking a few weeks to initially calm down, he’s now showing off what a sweet boy he is. Potato will greet us by flopping half of himself out of his bed and rolling on the ground, and he’ll make biscuits begging us to come say hello. He is a fiend for playtime and will “kill” any stuffed mouse. He loves to be pet gently and looooves snacks. Potato’s ideal home would be one with extreme stability. He would not do well in an apartment building or in an environment with frequent guests. He would do best in a quiet environment with pet parents who prefer an afternoon reading by the window over a tailgating party. He would love love love to share his space with some other kitties! Our favorite thing about Potato is his smooshy face and when he shows off his loving personality. Potato is on daily fluoxetine (Prozac) for his anxiety. It is a pill that he takes in his food with no issue. Potato will likely need to be on this medication for life. It costs less than $10/month Other Cats: yes please! Dogs: may be okay with cat-savvy dogs but would likely prefer a home without Kids: respectful kids 15+ okay DOB: ~2021 All Spicy Cats are spayed/neutered and UTD on vaccines prior to adoption.
